As far as transportation goes in Oakville, no matter which of the Oakville detached homes for sale you would choose, there will always be a major roadway (or more than one) near to you. Dundas Street, Lakeshore Road, and Upper Middle Road are generally considered to be the three major roadways that run east to west through Oakville, while Trafalgar Road, Ninth Line, and Neyagawa Boulevard are the major roadways that run north and south (primarily north given the proximity of Lake Ontario). Forming a nearly perfect grid, these nine roads have a massive array of sideroads branching out of them upon which (somewhere in Oakville) your future home will be located. There are also two major highways that service Oakville: The Highway 407 (which is a toll highway) and the Highway 403. The Highway 403 is the primary highway for this region, as it branches in an s-bend at Oakville's eastern edge, where the Queen Elizabeth Way branches off of the Highway 403. The Queen Elizabeth Way can be used for super-easy access into Toronto (where it becomes the Gardiner Expressway, then the Don Valley Parkway), and beyond the Don Valley Parkway, the Highway 404 (which can take you up into the northern reaches of southern Ontario).
The amenities that are located in Oakville at the intersection of Dundas Street and Trafalgar Road are the motherlode for this city, given that intersection can be considered the commercial "hub". Some of the examples of these amenities include a couple of big box stores, a couple of banks, a pharmacy, a couple of coffee shops, a few different restaurants/fast food places, an LCBO, a couple of specialty stores, along with a few mom-and-pop shops. Further south on Trafalgar Road, you also have Oakville Place, which is a shopping mall of a decent size that contains a good deal of boutique stores for you to check out. Throughout the city and beyond it, golf enthusiasts will also be able to have prime access to a handful of awesome golf clubs (the places, not the recreational stick you play the game with), with such examples of these golf clubs including Oakville Golf Club, Glen Abbey Golf Club, Rattlesnake Point Golf Club, and the Angel's View at Oakville Executive Golf Club, as well as Millcroft Golf Club. Between all of these wonderful amenities and the plethora of parks surrounding Oakville and being within it, to live in one of the Oakville detached homes for sale will serve to make for a truly fantastic living experience.
